JMP Group Announces Addition of Colin Fitt to Financial Services Investment Banking Group

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- JMP Group Inc. (NYSE:JMP), an investment banking and alternative asset management firm, announced today that Colin Fitt has joined JMP Securities, JMP Group's broker-dealer subsidiary, as a managing director in the financial services investment banking group. Mr. Fitt, who focuses on the insurance industry, is based in the firm's Chicago office.

"Colin is an important addition to JMP's financial services group," said Kent Ledbetter, director of investment banking at JMP Securities. "He brings decades of experience to his role, both as a senior investment banker and as an insurance professional. Colin's expertise and industry knowledge will complement Matt Carletti's equity research coverage of the property and casualty and reinsurance sectors, deepening JMP's commitment to its corporate clients in the space."

Prior to joining JMP Securities, Mr. Fitt was a managing director at Macquarie Capital and its predecessor, Fox-Pitt Kelton Cochran Caronia Waller, where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions and capital raising for clients in the non-life insurance industry. Mr. Fitt previously served as a vice president at GE Capital subsidiary Employers Reinsurance Corporation and as a reinsurance broker at both E.W. Blanch and Sullivan Payne. He holds a B.A. from the University of Kansas.
